The region is split down the middle and each half is a different structure reading a different bred shader as its ground. They share these eight links; each half organises four of them. Clicking one is a verdict for the half it belongs to and against the other, and it still takes you where the link goes. The pair above says which two structures are on screen, in no particular half: which is which is what the region itself shows you.
